Born in 1955 in Henan Province’s Baofeng County, Niu has been working for the Pingdingshan City Bureau of Public Security since 1980. Niu started in 1987 as a freelance photographer. His major works include,” Career Behind Bars,”“Martial Arts,”“In Dreams,””Garden of Hundred Flowers,””Small Coal Mines,” and “Work Place.” His work has been collected by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and published in Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Hong Kong and in various Taiwanese newspapers and magazines.
