People's Pictorial
People's Pictorial magazine was launched in July 1950. Between 1951 and 1958, the magazine came out with editions in English, Russian, French, Japanese, Spanish, German, Hindi, and Arabic. Calligraphy for the title, which literally translates as "People's Pictorial," was done by Mao Zedong. China Pictorial was one of four official publications that were permitted to continue publishing during the Cultural Revolution. (from website Dan Wen ) [l2] <#_msocom_2>
