Born in July 1954 in Chongqing, Zhang Xiaowen graduated from Correspondence College of Photography of China in 1993. Zhang has mainly photographed the living environment and ordinary people. His projects, “Miners of Small Mines,” ”Small Town Chongqing,” “Old Alleys of A Modern City,” and “Chongqing Hot Pot,” have been exhibited in China and the United States. Currently he is the Director of the Chongqing Photographers’ Association and is a freelance photographer in that city.
